Windows 7 on Mac mini

Here's a quick video of Windows 7 starting up on my Mac mini. It really wasn't too bad to get set up considering I've never done anything like this before... Boot Camp sets up a Windows partition, then you run the Windows 7 install (which was pretty simple), then once WIndows 7 is running you toss in the Mac OS X install disc to add some drives, Mac keyboard functionality, printer drivers, and things like AirPort support and whatnot. Then, when you want to switch OSs, you restart and hold down 'option' to get the startup screen with two hard drives, and you simply pick the one you want... pretty neat for sure.

I did actually pick up a version of Parallels (5), but since Windows 7 seems to run all the games I have so far, I haven't bothered with installing Parallels (plus I don't have another version of a Windows OS to install.)

Anyways, thought you might be interested!

PS - Since the crap video from the crap camera that I shot this crap film with couldn't show it, the two hard drives from the beginning are labeled "Macintosh HD" (left) and "Windows" (right.) Kind of made the whole zoom in part a bit meaningless I suppose...

The Winter Project Begins again

Now that's it's practically night by the time I get home, the only time I can shoot is on the weekends, which means I'll be doing my winter project again. I liked how it turned into a 3-image photo each week, so I think I'll go with that until I think of something else I'd like to try... hope you enjoyed this year's Daylight photos!

Here's the new 'Pacific Standard' winter site...

239 : Bare twigs shilouette

I couldn't get a nice colorful shot like I had hoped for the finale... the only direct light was during the sunset hours facing west. Just liked to look of the tiny twigs against the light sky. I'll probably get more like this when I get the black and white winter up and going!

238 : Raindrops on yellow lily bloom

Another wet day here, but bright enough to get a nice shot out front. It's nice that the project is almost done, but there are still some flower still holding out with some color. Let's hope it's bright enough at some point tomorrow for a colorful finale photo!

237 : Raindrops on rose leaf

Managed to get this shot after it had rained a bit and the sun was setting. Just love how yellow the sunshine comes in just before it sets. Love the depth of the leaves in the distance.

236 : Orange leaf on blue

Decided to head back out to the dogwood tree and see if I could get some more leaf shots. Found this orange one in the sunlight and got a handful of it. Just love the bright color of it, and the texture against the light blue backdrop. Love the highlights and shadows that show the topography of the leaf.

235 : The last rose petal

There's not much left of the roses in the back yard, but it's the only place that gets any sun by the time I get home nowadays. Just liked the image of the lone petal hanging on, with the warm low sun giving it a nice yellow glow.
